Custer, Faust & Associates, P.C. is a full service accounting firm located in Millersburg, Pennsylvania. We cater to a wide variety of individual, business, non-profit organizations and local governments. We provide tax and accounting services for individuals and businesses, including tax planning and tax return preparation, auditing, bookkeeping and payroll processing services.
Custer, Faust & Associates, P.C. is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants and the National Association of Tax Practitioners. The firm also successfully completed peer review as required by the AICPA.
Mission
Our mission is to provide you with the finest accounting, auditing, tax, management advisory, bookkeeping and payroll services and at all times practice with honesty, integrity, and courtesy.
Our office staff provides a warm and caring environment to enhance rewarding relationships with our clients. Our goal is to never lose the local identity and personal relationship with the clients that are the foundation of our practice.
We strive to offer services to our clients at a reasonable cost and to help each client reach his or her maximum potential.
History
Our founding company, Custer & Custer was established in 1981, and in January of 2006 it reorganized into Custer, Faust & Associates, P.C. and presently includes a staff of two professionals and three paraprofessionals.
Our areas of practice include full bookkeeping and payroll processing services, individual and business tax preparation and planning, preparation of financial statements, and auditing of non-profit organizations and local governments.
Our Staff
Baylor C. Custer, CPA-
Baylor founded the firm in 1981. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and passed the CPA Examination in 1968. He has prepared individual and business taxes for over thirty years and is well respected in his field for the sound business advice that he offers clients.
He served as the Chief Financial Officer in private industry for twenty-five years and gained a wealth of first hand knowledge about the operation of a successful business which he is able to share in this practice.
Baylor served the community of Millersburg for fourteen years as a member of the town council and as Mayor. He is also an active member of the First United Methodist Church and chairman of the church finance committee.
John J. Faust, CPA-
John Faust joined the staff in November of 2003 and became partner in January of 2006. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Accounting from Penn State University and successfully completed the Certified Public Accounting Examination in April of 2003.
His experience prior to joining our firm includes governmental accounting and corporate accounting specializing in cost savings and profit maximization.
Rick Ibberson, Staff Accountant-
Rick Ibberson joined the staff in January of 2010. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Accounting from Penn State University.
Rick has many years experience working in private industry, as well as a great deal of involvement in the community, including his duties as mayor of Millersburg, PA.
Brian Faust, Staff Accountant-
Brian recently joined the team in January of 2012. Brian has an Associates Degree in Accounting from Miami Dade College and is currently finishing his Bachelors Degree in Business Management.
His Prior Experience has been in purchasing and cost control in the Food & Beverage sector for the previous eight years.
Pat Joreitz, Office Manager-
Pat is one of our paraprofessionals and manages the front office. She processes payroll and performs bookkeeping services for many of our clients. Pat is very efficient and accurate in her work. She has performed bookkeeping services for over 20 years, and has been a member of the firm since 1994.
Lori Faust, Office Assistant-
Lori is a paraprofessional as well and joined the firm in April 2008. She graduated from Juniata College in 1996 with a Bachelors of Social Work. Lori also has a variety of duties that she is efficient in; including bookkeeping and taxes.

Accounting Services-
Our firm offers a complete range of accounting services including bookkeeping and payroll processing. We prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for use by banks, investors, and other third parties. Our firm will also prepare custom financial reports for internal managerial use.
Tax Services-
Our firm offers a full range of tax planning and compliance services. We will work with you year-round if necessary in order to minimize your total tax burden. Our firm also prepares all federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Consulting Services-
Our company offers a wide range of consulting services to help you improve business operations, boost efficiency, and increase the bottom line.
Tax Planning-
Our firm continuously monitors federal, state, and local tax law changes to allow its clients to minimize current and future tax liabilities. If necessary, we can implement tailor-made due-date tax compliance monitoring systems to prevent costly interest and penalty assessments attributable to late filing. Of course, we offer full tax preparation and filing services.
Attest Services-
Our firm offers both limited and full scope attest services. We pledge to deliver cost-efficient attest services in accordance with your mandatory reporting deadlines. We have successfully completed peer review and are current with our Yellow Book requirements. We have experience in audits of nonprofit organizations, local governments and municipal authorities.
Bookkeeping/Write-Up-
Our firm provides all bookkeeping and payroll services which a client may need to operate his or her business. This includes the preparation of payroll, payroll tax returns, accounts payable, billing services, maintenance of general ledger and preparation of interim financial statements. We also offer on-site bookkeeping services at your location.
IRS and State/Local Representation-
Our firm knows the tax laws and we know how your tax return was prepared. We can provide complete representation services before the IRS as well as state and local taxing authorities.
Payroll Services-
Our firm offers complete payroll preparation and payroll tax reporting services. We prepare all federal and state returns and offer full magnetic media and electronic filing capabilities.
Compilation, Review, and Audit Services-
Our firm provides professional compilation, review, and audit services to businesses of all sizes. We can quickly compile your financial records into meaningful GAAP-compliant financial statements, offer limited-scope review testing, and can deliver complete audit attestation.
